The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, acting through its areas for Political Coordination and Economic Diplomacy, concluded the fourth round of meetings with the Economic Development Ministries of all 32 Mexican states. The purpose was to align efforts to promote exports and attract investment through Mexico's diplomatic missions abroad.
Director General Farid Hannan presented the three pillars of the Ministry's economic promotion strategy, along with the means available to state governments for coordination. These cover a range of activities: identifying and publicizing trade and investment opportunities; providing institutional support at international trade fairs and events, including agenda coordination and outreach to strategic counterparts; assisting in the organization and execution of Mexican trade missions abroad; promoting and facilitating trade missions to Mexico; and hosting seminars designed to improve companies' export skills and attract foreign investment.
Representatives from the state ministries also shared their plans and priorities for 2026, with the aim of aligning agendas and deepening coordination under a joint strategy.
These meetings, coupled with a strategic partnership with the Mexican Association of Economic Development Secretaries (AMSDE), are strengthening the Foreign Ministry's work with Mexico's states to increase their integration into the global economy and raise their international profile.
