The Tampa Police Department and the Tampa Police Memorial Committee are pleased to announce that the 31st Annual Tampa Police Memorial 5K/1-Mile Run-Walk will take place Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 8:00 am. The event will be held rain or shine.

Mayor Jane Castor, Chief Lee Bercaw, and the Tampa Police Department invite the public to gather in Lykes Gaslight Park for this yearly event that honors fallen officers and celebrates the spirit of community.

"The 31st Annual Tampa Police Memorial Run is more than just a race, it is a living tribute," said Chief Lee Bercaw. "As a community, we run to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice, carrying their enduring legacy forward and reaffirming our shared commitment to the common goal of ensuring safety for every person who calls Tampa home."

Thirty-two Tampa Police Officers will run together in memory of each of the Tampa Police Department's 32 fallen officers. Each officer will carry an armband with the name of a Tampa Police Officer who made the ultimate sacrifice in their final act of public service.

The 5K run will begin at 8 am, followed by a 1-mile fun run/walk at 9 am.

The event will also feature several exciting activities for all participants including food, music, door prizes, give-a-ways, and refreshments; a flyover by the Tampa Police Aviation Unit; and a rappelling demonstration by members of the Tampa Police SWAT Team who will unfurl an American flag beginning from the roof of TPD Headquarters.

Important Registration Information:
• New Registrants: Anyone who has not yet registered can do so now by clicking on the event link or going to www.tampa.gov/police/2025MemorialRunRegistration

• Registration Deadlines: Online registration will end on Wednesday, October 8, 2025. Last minute registration will be available, in person, the day of the run from 6:00 am until 9:00 am in front of the Tampa Police Museum, located at 411 N. Franklin St.

• Packet Pickup: Registered participants can pick up their shirts, bibs, and challenge coins (if ordered online) at the Tampa Police Museum on Friday, October 10, 2025, between 11:00 am and 7:00 pm. Packets will also be available for pickup the day of the run beginning at 6:30 am at Tampa Police Headquarters, 2nd floor lobby.

The Tampa Police Memorial 5K/1-Mile Run-Walk is an annual event honoring fallen Tampa Police officers and celebrating the spirit of community. Proceeds benefit the Tampa Police Museum, Memorial Scholarship Program, charitable donations, and improvements to the Tampa Police Memorial Monument.
