Seva Vanitha Unit Provides Dry Ration Packs to Ministry Staff Impacted by ‘Ditwa’ Cyclone

The Seva Vanitha Unit (SVU) of the Ministry of Defence carried out a compassionate relief initiative today (08 December), distributing dry ration packs to Ministry staff members adversely affected by the recent floods and landslides caused by the 'Ditwa' cyclone. The event took place at the Ministry premises.

This timely welfare programme was conducted under the leadership and guidance of the Secretary to the Ministry of Defence, Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd), and the President of the Ministry's Seva Vanitha Unit, Dr. (Mrs.) Ruwini Rasika Perera.

The distribution aimed to provide immediate assistance to employees whose homes and daily lives had been disrupted by the severe weather conditions. The event was attended by the Defence Secretary, Mrs. Indika Wijegunawardana Additional Secretary (Civil Security and Development), Senior Officials of the Ministry and the members of the Seva Vanitha Unit.
