Training and discussion held to strengthen occupational safety and health legislation

Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Protection's officials presented a draft law on OSH, followed by a discussion among the members of the OSH committees of the ministries. 26 representatives have participated for the discussion.

The workshop also included a discussion session among informal workers across nine districts of the capital city. 42 representatives have participated for the discussion.

Recent findings noted that informal workers remain underserved in terms of occupational safety and health protections, and legal regulations in micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises are currently insufficient. In response, efforts are underway to revise and strengthen OSH legislation, with a particular focus on enhancing preventive measures against industrial accidents and occupational diseases among informal and small-scale workers.

Participants received up-to-date knowledge on national OSH policies, ongoing legal reforms, and best practices in prevention and workplace safety management.

Discussions also addressed key challenges faced by informal workers in implementing OSH measures, while providing guidance and practical tools to improve OSH in the workplace.
