Cal Cities is accepting applications for the Advancing Equity Advisory Committee through Sept. 26. Relaunched in 2024, the committee will help cities build more equitable communities as well as translate Cal Cities' diversity goals into intentional and consistent practices at all levels of the organization.
The Advancing Equity Advisory Committee consists of 40 members representing caucuses, divisions, and departments, as well as five at-large members and five Board of Directors representatives. Each appointment serves a one-year term, starting during the Annual Conference and Expo in October. Meetings are tentatively scheduled for Jan. 30, March 20, June 5, and Aug. 28 via Zoom.
In the upcoming year, members can expect to help roll out an in-progress, updated equity roadmap, which focuses on ensuring members are connected to resources and educational opportunities.
Cal Cities is looking for involved members to provide a diverse set of viewpoints. The application includes basic demographic information and brief, open-ended questions about a candidate's interests and experiences. If this work is important to you, we encourage you to apply.
