Alsobrooks on Republicans Trying to Slash Medicaid Benefits: We’re Sick Of It!

WASHINGTON, DC - Today, Senator Angela Alsobrooks (D-Md.) released the following statement on the Republican Budget and their deliberate attempt to harm the 1.6 million Marylanders who benefit from Medicaid:

"A mother recently came to me in tears, asking what will happen to her child with disabilities if their Medicaid is cut? This mother is not alone. America is living in fear of this callous Republican party and their threats to slash Medicaid. And now the threats are becoming action. We're sick of it.

"The Republican budget plan would kick 13.7 million Americans off health insurance.

"Let's be clear on what access to health insurance means: It means families don't need to wait to go to the doctor until it's too late, it means cancers get caught early, it means mothers don't have to die during childbirth, it means children can get care early and live healthy, full lives.

"Access to health care saves lives. This budget plan will cost lives."
