Victim identified from July 14 homicide investigation near the 600 block of North Murray Boulevard

On July 14, 2026, at approximately 10:10 p.m., officers from Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), Sand Creek Division, were dispatched to a stabbing in the 600 block of North Murray Boulevard. Initial information included that one person had been stabbed.

When officers arrived, they found one adult male deceased on scene who had suffered multiple stab wounds.

Detectives from the homicide unit responded to assume the investigation, which is still ongoing. All known parties involved in this incident have been identified and contacted by detectives. No arrest has been made at this time pending further investigation.

On July 15, 2026, the El Paso County Coroner's Office conducted an autopsy and identified the deceased victim as 53-year-old Jerry Blair. While the Coroner's Office will determine the cause and manner of death, this is being investigated as a homicide.

This was the 8th homicide in Colorado Springs this year. Last year at this time, there were 20 homicides.
