Independence Blue Cross announces Coupe Health, a new health plan option designed to provide cost certainty, affordability, and quality

Plan boasts 9-10 percent reduction in employer and member health plan costs

Independence Blue Cross (IBX) announces Coupe Health* (Coupe), a health plan that provides cost certainty, affordability, and transparent provider quality. Coupe is designed with both employers and employees in mind, offering significant savings and fostering a simpler, more user-friendly experience. The plan is available starting January 1, 2026, for IBX self-funded large employers (51+).

How Coupe's simple, user-friendly model differs from other health plans

• Price certainty. Coupe makes health care similar to other online shopping experiences. The plans have no coinsurance or deductible for all benefits, including out-of-network providers. Since costs are set in advance, members will know exactly what they'll pay before receiving care - eliminating potentially complicated bills.**
• Quality-ranked providers. Providers are ranked and categorized as green, yellow, or red with green providers offering the highest quality at the lowest cost using the BlueCross BlueShield Association's negotiated rates and national dataset - the largest commercial dataset in the industry.
• Seamless user experience. The Coupe app and member site offer easy access to the provider search tool, benefits information, and provider rankings. Members can look up providers and services in the Coupe app or member portal to view copays before using them.
• Personalized support. Health Valets are available to guide members through their health care journey and answer questions.

Savings for employers and members***

On average, employers and members who select Coupe have seen a 9-10 percent reduction in health plan costs. In addition, 92 percent of members surveyed say they'd keep their Coupe health plan over their previous health plan.
