NAACP Honors Garland’s Cultural Arts Director and Parks & Recreation Department

The NAACP Garland Unit recognized the City of Garland with two awards at its 34th annual Freedom Fund Brunch on Sept. 20.

Garland Cultural Arts Director Amy Rosenthal, pictured with NAACP Garland Unit president Ricky McNeal, and the Garland Cultural Arts Department were recognized as Bridge Builders for their support of NAACP programs. Particularly noted was their help in securing facility use and ensuring successful events - even with a short turnaround time.

Garland's Parks & Recreation Department received the Volunteer Service Award for its dedicated volunteers who contribute to the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day parade float.

The City of Garland is proud to partner with NAACP to serve the residents of Garland.
