May is Building Safety Month. It's a time to learn how building rules and safety codes help keep people safe.
This event is led by the International Code Council, a group that helps make sure buildings are built securely.
Sunnyvale is proud to celebrate Building Safety Month and honor the hard work of our City One-Stop Permit Center staff, building inspectors, plan checkers and engineers. We provide essential programs and services to residents and businesses.
Sunnyvale offers private development review, permit approval, plan approval and safety inspections for developers and residents.
Over the past year, Sunnyvale achieved the following:
- Performed 24,400 inspections
- Completed 1,800 first plan checks
- Issued 4,700 permits
- Valued permitted construction at $1.2 billion
- Served 7,000 customers at our One-Stop Permit Center
