Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) participated in the City of Weatherford's Recycling Day event as part of the community's Earth Day activities. Faculty, staff, students, and local residents worked together throughout the event to collect and sort recyclable materials for proper disposal.

The event focused on sustainability and environmental responsibility. Volunteers assisted with sorting items such as batteries and lightbulbs to help reduce landfill waste and encourage recycling efforts within the community.

SWOSU was represented by members of the Department of Biological and Biomedical Sciences. Participants included Dr. Renan Bosque, administrative assistant Jamia Williams, and student McKaegan Gregory. Their participation continued the department's involvement in service activities connected to environmental stewardship and community engagement.

Weatherford's Recycling Day is one of several local Earth Day initiatives that provide residents with opportunities to dispose of materials responsibly and learn more about recycling efforts in the area. Events like this also create opportunities for collaboration between community organizations, volunteers, and local institutions.

SWOSU regularly participates in community events that connect students and employees with service opportunities across western Oklahoma. The university's involvement in programs related to sustainability and service remains an important part of its connection to the Weatherford community.
