IPA CIS IIMDD Experts Hold Seminar for Observers at Polling Stations Abroad

A seminar for IPA CIS observers who will monitor the elections to the State Duma at polling stations abroad was held on 11 September 2026.

The training was conducted by staff members of the International Institute for Monitoring Democracy Development, Parliamentarianism and Suffrage Protection of Citizens of IPA CIS Member Nations (IPA CIS IIMDD).

More than 60 observers from countries in Africa, Europe, the Middle East and Latin America will work at polling stations outside the CIS.

The seminar was held in Russian, English and French. The participants were briefed on the main tasks and principles of the work of IPA CIS international observers, the provisions of Russian electoral legislation concerning international election observation, and the Institute's activities in the course of election monitoring.

The experts also answered questions from the observers.

From 18 to 20 September, the IPA CIS Observer Team will work not only in Moscow and other regions of Russia, but also in 29 cities worldwide: Baku (Azerbaijan), Yerevan and Gyumri (Armenia), Minsk, Vitebsk, Gomel, Grodno and Mogilev (Belarus), Astana (Kazakhstan), Bishkek and Osh (Kyrgyzstan), Dushanbe and Khujand (Tajikistan), Tashkent and Samarkand (Uzbekistan), Brussels (Belgium), Bujumbura (Burundi), London (United Kingdom), Kinshasa (Congo), Antananarivo (Madagascar), Bamako (Mali), Mexico City (Mexico), Bucharest (Romania), Mahé Island (Seychelles), Dar es Salaam (Tanzania), Lomé (Togo), Kampala (Uganda), Malabo (Equatorial Guinea) and Dubai (UAE).
