NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC AND REQUEST FOR INFORMATION

Subject to AS 38.05.850, the Southeast Regional Land Office has received an application for the following:

APPLICANT: BRIAN PORTER

PROJECT NAME: LAS 35495

GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: Outside of the boundaries of the Material Site ADL 107653 in Naukati Bay, northern Prince of Wales Island, Alaska. GPS- 55.8753 N, 133.2041 W

LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Section 19, Township 69 South, Range 80 East, Copper River Meridian

REQUESTED ACTIVITY: Brian Porter (D.B.A. BD Construction) has applied for a Land Use Permit from the Alaska Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Division of Mining, Land and Water (DMLW), for the placement of a waste site on roughly 0.25 acres of state owned uplands. The waste site would include organic materials, clays, silts, and soil left over from construction projects. The material would be hauled in and spread out using a dump truck and excavator. Once the permit is no longer needed, reseeding of the area will be performed according to best practices. The proposed permit term is 5 years.

PROPOSED DATES OF USE:
Start: May 8, 2025
End: May 7, 2030

DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS: April 28, 2025

The public is invited to comment on this activity. The purpose of this notice is to gather input before a decision is made on this activity. To ensure consideration, written comments must be received on or before 5:00 PM on the date noted above. Comments should be sent to the Division of Mining, Land and Water's Southeast Regional Land Office by:
