Mono County Launches Community Support Grant Programs; Funding Available for Non-Profits, Arts, and History

MONO COUNTY, CA - [October 2, 2025] - Mono County, through its Economic Development, Tourism, and Film Commission, is pleased to announce that applications are now open for three Community Support Grant Programs to assist established non-profit organizations across the county. These are all reimbursement programs, with funding identified in the Fiscal Year (FY) 2025-26 budget adopted by the Board of Supervisors on September 9th.

The grant programs available are:

Community Event Marketing Fund (CEMF)
The CEMF is designed to help non-profit groups advertise and promote tourism-based community events to markets outside the Eastern Sierra, with the goal of increasing year-round visitation and overnight stays.

  • Goal: Increase economic benefit, prioritizing events during the less busy "shoulder" seasons.
  • Funding Available: Up to $5,000 per event.
  • Total Program Funding (FY 25-26): $25,000

Historical Societies Grant Program (HSGP)
This program supports established non-profit historical societies and museums in Mono County with eligible projects and programs.

  • Funding Available: Up to $4,000 per organization, based on the scope of the project.
  • Total Program Funding (FY 25-26): $14,000

Performing & Visual Arts Grant Program (PVAG)
The PVAG supports established non-profit Performing and Visual Arts organizations in Mono County with eligible projects and programs.

  • Funding Available: Up to $4,500 per organization, based on the scope of the project.
  • Total Program Funding (FY 25-26): $25,000

New This Year: Extended Timeline for HSGP & PVAG
To provide greater flexibility, the HSGP and PVAG programs now allow funds to roll into the next fiscal year. This means grantees can plan and execute projects, programs, or events anytime within the full calendar year (through December 31, 2026), rather than being limited to completion by June 30th.

Important Timeline Note: Applicants must specify their project end date and when they plan to submit for reimbursement. Once committed to a fiscal year, the reimbursement timing cannot change, underscoring the need for careful project planning. All reimbursements are made after the project is complete and upon submission of a final report.
