The following statement can be attributed to Paul Lekas, Executive Vice President, Global Public Policy and Government Affairs, the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA).
Last night, the House passed the Kids Internet and Digital Safety (KIDS) Act with bipartisan support. As we said in our testimony on the legislation before the Committee in December, "[b]uilding a safer, healthier, and more useful internet for youth and families requires everybody's input and all of us to work together." The KIDS Act is a result of bipartisan agreement in the House on one of the more vexing sets of issues Congress has faced in recent years. We look forward to working with both chambers to come to an agreement that works for all stakeholders to improve safety for kids and teens online and protect their privacy.
