EU Anti-Poverty Strategy enters public consultation phase

European Commission

The Commission is calling on citizens, experts and organisations to help shape the EU's new Anti-Poverty Strategy, now open for public consultation. The Commission is also seeking further insights on the causes and perception of poverty, and on the upcoming EU Anti-Poverty Strategy, a key priority of this mandate.

The strategy, which will be presented next year, aims to provide essential protection to people that need it the most and tackle the root causes of poverty. It will also play a pivotal role in implementing the European Pillar of Social Rights, as the EU strives to reduce the number of people at risk of poverty by at least 15 million by 2030.

Both the public consultation and the call for evidence will remain open for 14 weeks, until 24 October 2025.
