FY2026-27 Budget Update: Thank you to everyone who made their voices heard at this week's joint public hearing of the City's Board of Finance and Board of Representatives Fiscal Committee. Residents provided thoughtful input on the 2026-27 operating and capital budgets, which will be taken into consideration as both bodies continue deliberations over the next month.

2026 Mayor's Community Microgrant Program: I'm thrilled to announce the launch of our 2025 Community Microgrant Program! Each year, I'm inspired by the creativity and dedication shown by residents and neighborhood organizations who bring forward incredible ideas to strengthen our community. Affordable Housing Roundtable: Last week, I participated in a roundtable discussion on affordable housing with Senator Murphy, State Senator Pat Billie Miller, and local and statewide housing partners. We discussed the challenges and barriers that exist, including rising costs and gaps in funding, as well as the opportunities for more federal support to help communities meet our growing housing needs.

Beach Permits: Beach permits are now available for purchase online, by mail, or in person at the Cashiering and Permitting Department. Residents are encouraged to buy their permits early rather than wait until beach season! Permits are required beginning on May 1st through September 30th. Click here to purchase.

Walk In Permitting: Walk-in Permitting occurs weekly every Wednesday from 8:30 - 10:30 am. Walk-in permitting sessions take place on the 7th floor of the Stamford Government Center. For more information, visit here

AARP Tax Aide: AARP Tax Aide will be available at the Government Center in the 4th floor cafeteria Monday from 10:00 am - 5:30 pm (walk in). For more information click here.

Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony: The Stamford Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony will take place on Sunday, May 17th at 12:00 pm. Kickoff will start at the Stamford Police Department Headquarters and finish at Veterans Memorial Park. See the flyer below for more information.
Traffic

Long Ridge Road Milling and Paving: The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) will be milling and resurfacing a portion of Long Ridge Road starting next week. Milling for this project is scheduled to begin on Sunday, April 12 to Wednesday, April 15, 2026. The resurfacing segment of this project is anticipated to begin on Wednesday, April 15 to Thursday, April 23, 2026, weather permitting. Motorists can expect lane closures of Route 104 from South of Riverbank Road to the New York/Connecticut State line. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone. The work schedule for this project is from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., Sunday night to Friday morning.

Old Long Ridge Road Bridge: After a visual inspection of the Old Long Ridge Road Bridge, just south of Hunting Ridge Road, city engineers have implemented a temporary one-way traffic pattern, effective immediately. The City will share further updates as they become available.

Mill Road Bridge: The Mill Road bridge near Old Long Ridge Road is open to one lane vehicular traffic. Residents can click here for updates.
