LANSING, Mich. - At their Sept. 17 meeting held in Harbor Springs in conjunction with the Michigan Association of Airport Executives (MAAE) fall conference, the Michigan Aeronautics Commission (MAC) and Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) announced the Award of Excellence winners for achievements in promoting and improving aviation. These awards are presented to airports, aviators, professionals, consultants and others.
The 2026 award winners are:
"Each year, the Award of Excellence allows us to highlight the people and programs driving Michigan aviation forward, and this year's honorees truly exemplify that spirit," said Bryan Budds, MAC and MDOT Office of Aeronautics director. "The MAC, MDOT and the aviation community congratulate both award winners and thank them for their continued leadership and contributions to Michigan's aviation community."
The MAC and MDOT have recognized airports, individuals and organizations whose innovative contributions have led to significant improvements to facilities, operations or public relations that support aviation in Michigan. The MAC is responsible for the general supervision of aeronautics within Michigan.
