Police responded to an assault & battery at the intersection of First St & Spring St. The reporting party stated they were locking their scooter to a bike rack when an unknown individual yelled at them to get in the bike lane and bumped them with their shoulder. The victim didn't report any injury or damage to their scooter.

Police took a report of a past shoplifting on the 500 block of Massachusetts Ave. A store employee had stopped an individual attempting to leave the store without paying for 4 items. All merchandise was returned, the individual was identified by staff as an unhoused Boston resident and was trespassed from the store.

Police responded to two individuals driving mopeds around a basketball court on Columbia St. It was found that one of the mopeds was reported stolen. The moped was towed and the operator, a Dorchester resident, will be summonsed to court for Receiving a Stolen Motor Vehicle.

Police responded to a report of an unwanted person at a hotel on Garden St. The reporting party claims an individual attempted to gain access to guest room floors and consume food meant for guests. When confronted the individual began to yell at staff causing a disturbance and fled before officers arrived. The reporting person claimed this has been an on-going issue.

Police responded to an assault on the 700 block of Massachusetts Ave. A store employee stated an individual, later identified as Michael Avant-McKinley, 40, of Cambridge attempted to steal a sandwich from the store. When the employee attempted to intervene, Avant-McKinley punched them in the face before stealing another sandwich, a chocolate bar, and a drink. Officers located Avant-McKinley nearby and attempted to speak with him, at which point Avant-McKinley physically assaulted an officer before he was detained. Avant-McKinley was subsequently placed under arrest on charges of Unarmed Robbery, Assault & Battery on a Police Officer, Resisting Arrest, and Trespassing.

Police took a report of a home repair scam on the 300 block of Brookline St. A victim reported that a group of individuals presenting themselves as contractors had charged $130,000 for a home repair. The group pretended to work but never completed the job and demanded more money before disappearing.

Police responded to a fight on Temple St. It was learned that following an argument, Pearl Renay Simpson, 53, of Cambridge had struck a victim multiple times in the face with a closed fist, thrown them to the ground and then kicked the victim. Simpson was placed under arrest on a charge of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
