The Speaker of the House of Representatives Dr Anġlu Farrugia has been re-elected unanimously to serve a second term as President of the Committee to Promote Respect for International Humanitarian Law within the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).
The election took place during the 151st IPU Assembly, currently being held in Geneva, Switzerland.
Speaker Anġlu Farrugia's renewed mandate will focus on deepening parliamentary cooperation in defence of humanitarian values, enhancing the visibility of the IPU's work in this field, and encouraging legislative action that safeguards human dignity and international law in all circumstances.
