Air Pollution Precautionary Advisory

Pinellas County has issued an Air Pollution Advisory due to elevated levels of the pollutant Ozone. This advisory is effective Friday, May 15, 2026.

We expect high Moderate levels of Ozone with Air Quality Index (AQI) values from 51 - 100. Increased pollution levels reaching the Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups category is expected, especially at peak concentration times that occur daily.

People sensitive to ozone and those with lung disease such as people with asthma, older adults, children and teenagers, and people who are active outdoors, should consider reducing prolonged or heavy outdoor exertion when the ozone concentration is elevated. Particulate matter pollution is also expected to be in the Moderate AQI range.

This alert will remain in effect throughout the day on Friday, May 15. The following day, Saturday, May 16, will likely have Moderate AQI, but air pollution concentration is not expected to be as high. This advisory may be lifted if the forecast changes.
