Deborah Berkman, Director of the Shelter and Economic Stability Project in NYLAG's Public Benefits Unit, spoke with the hosts of CBS Mornings on the urgent need to fund SNAP benefits during the ongoing government shutdown.

"Americans are going to starve" and food banks "simply can't keep up," she warned CBS News anchors Tony Dokoupil and Adriana Diaz, going on to also discuss how Americans can help those who rely on food assistance programs that have been disrupted by the government shutdown.
