Library Updates: Summer Reading, Programs & More

The Newton Public Library has some exciting news:

  • Library Foundation Support: A big thank you to the Newton Public Library Foundation for funding many youth, teen, and adult programs, making them free for the community. Learn more here.
  • 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten: Congratulations to 18-month-old Ruthanne Ostrander for completing the program! This ongoing program is a great way to jumpstart early learning. Register here.
  • Summer Reading Kickoff: Join us on June 2 from 4-6 p.m. on the library lawn for fun activities, free ice cream, and a coupon for one free child's admission to the Blank Park Zoo for the first 700 kids to register.
  • Radon Testing Kit: Protect your home by testing for radon. Kits are available to borrow at the library. Learn more about radon here.
  • Cactus Planter Workshop: Learn how to make your own cactus planter with Sylvia Townsend on June 23. Registration opens soon. Call 641-792-4108 for more info.
  • Terrarium Workshop on May 12.
  • Blues Under the Blue Roof with Cindy Grill on May 19.
  • Introvert Book Club - pick up your book at the library and read at your own pace.
