NIFA Announces $7M Investment in Complex Animal Agriculture Issues

USDA's National Institute of Food and Agriculture has invested $7 million in eight projects as part of the Agriculture and Food Research Initiative's Inter-Disciplinary Engagement in Animal Systems program priority area (1261). This initiative seeks to bridge traditional disciplinary divides and address complex issues in animal agriculture, including aquaculture, that focus on precision animal management, environmental synergies of animal production, and societal aspects of animal welfare.
