The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County invites eligible providers to respond to a Request for Proposals (RFP) to deliver SOAR (SSI/SSDI Outreach, Access, and Recovery) services to qualified individuals experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
About the SOAR Program
According to the National Alliance to End Homelessness (NAEH):
"The SSI/SSDI Outreach, Access, and Recovery (SOAR) program, funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), is a national program designed to increase access to the disability income benefit programs administered by the Social Security Administration (SSA).
SOAR is designed for eligible adults and children who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness, and who have a serious mental illness, medical impairment, and/or a co-occurring substance use disorder. Accessing the income and health care benefits that Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) provide can be a critical step for individuals who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness."
