Spraygrounds Open May 26
Longer days and warmer weather mean spray park season is almost here. The spraygrounds at
Lions Park and
Woodruff Park open Tuesday, May 26 at 11:00 AM, just in time for some end-of-spring splashing. Bring your kids and let them burn off approximately three years' worth of energy!
Celebrate Culture, Community, and Heritage
Celebrate Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month at the 4th Annual AANHPI Celebration on May 23 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at South Puget Sound Community College in Lacey. Hosted by the Asian Pacific Islander Coalition of South Puget Sound and sponsored by the City of Olympia, this free community event features cultural performances, hands-on activities, workshops, local vendors, and plenty of food.

Welcome Figure Dedication Join the Squaxin Island Tribe, artist Andrea Wilbur-Sigo, and the City of Olympia on Thursday, June 4 at 4:30 p.m. for the dedication of Həʔapus sqʷəbay (Mother of Restoration), a new Welcome Figure near
Isthmus Park honoring Coast Salish tradition, cultural partnership, and environmental restoration.

LBA Park Zip Line Temporarily Closed
The zip line at LBA Park is temporarily out of service while replacement parts are on order. Delivery is expected to take about a month, and we know that's disappointing news. We'll share updates once repairs are complete and the zip line is back in action.
Yashiro Japanese Garden Update
The Yashiro Japanese Garden will close June 1, 2026, as the City prepares to relocate the beloved space following the sale of the Justice Center property. While the current site must be cleared by the end of 2026, the City is working to preserve key garden elements, protect its Sister City connection, and begin planning for a future garden with public input.
