ATLANTA - DeKalb County House Legislative Delegation Chair Karla Drenner (D-Avondale Estates), Vice Chair Viola Davis (D-Stone Mountain), Secretary Long Tran (D-Dunwoody), along with members of the DeKalb County House Legislative Delegation, will hold a virtual meeting with the DeKalb Municipal Association (DMA) on Monday, February 23, 2026, at 12 p.m. via Zoom. Additionally, these legislators will meet with the DeKalb County Board of Education on Monday, March 2, 2026, from 12 - 2 p.m. in room 514 of the Coverdell Legislative Office Building in Atlanta.
"Strong municipalities and strong schools are foundational to economic stability and quality of life in DeKalb County," said Rep. Davis. "These meetings ensure that we are aligned with local leadership as we advocate for our communities at the State Capitol."
During the first delegation meeting, DMA officials will present legislative priorities affecting DeKalb County municipalities, including infrastructure, public safety, economic development and intergovernmental coordination. The meeting seeks to provide legislators with the opportunity to engage directly with city leadership on policy concerns and funding needs. During the second delegation meeting, education officials will address school funding, safety initiatives, transportation needs, workforce readiness and the importance of equitable state investment in public education.
