Mayor Joe Pizzillo Named Outstanding Public Official

West Valley Regional Chamber recognizes Mayor Pizzillo for his impact on quality of life and community involvement

Goodyear Mayor Joe Pizzillo has been named the 2026 Outstanding Public Official by the West Valley Regional Chamber, recognizing his leadership and contributions to the quality of life in the West Valley.

Mayor Pizzillo received the award during the chamber's annual Awards Gala on Friday, Sept. 11, at The Wigwam in Litchfield Park. The Outstanding Public Official Award recognizes an individual serving in public office whose efforts have had a positive impact on quality of life in the West Valley and who is visible and active within the community.

"I'm honored to receive this recognition, but to me it reflects what we can accomplish when we work together," said Mayor Pizzillo. "Every day, the council, staff and our community partners work together to create opportunities that strengthen Goodyear and the West Valley as a whole. I'm proud to play a role in building a stronger future for our community."

Mayor Pizzillo has served the Goodyear community for 22 years. He joined the Goodyear City Council in 2009 and was appointed mayor in December 2021 to complete the term of the late Mayor Georgia Lord. He was elected mayor in 2022. Prior to serving on the city council, Mayor Pizzillo served as the city's Budget Manager.

During his time on the city council, Mayor Pizzillo has helped lead Goodyear through significant growth and investment with a continued focus on public safety, infrastructure, economic development and quality of life.

The West Valley Regional Chamber represents businesses and organizations throughout the region and presents its annual awards to recognize businesses, nonprofits, schools and community leaders making an impact in the West Valley.
