WORKING VISITS OF THE DEPUTY MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS TO THE

REPUBLIC OF TÜRKIYE AND REPUBLIC OF AZERBAIJAN

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Datuk Mohamad bin Alamin is undertaking a working visit to Antalya, Republic of Türkiye, from 10 to 13 April 2025 to participate in the 4 th Antalya Diplomacy Forum (ADF). He will then travel to Baku, Republic of Azerbaijan, from 14 to 16 April 2025 to co-chair the 2 nd Malaysia-Azerbaijan Political Consultation.

ADF is an annual forum hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye, under the patronage of President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The Deputy Foreign Minister has been invited to participate as one of the panellists in a discussion entitled "ASEAN's Evolving Role at Regional and Global Levels". During this session, the Deputy Foreign Minister will highlight Malaysia's key role in fostering trust and inclusivity among ASEAN Member States while engaging constructively with major global powers. As ASEAN Chair 2025, Malaysia is committed to upholding ASEAN's centrality and maintaining neutrality in its interactions within a dynamic global landscape.

At the sidelines of ADF 2025, the Deputy Foreign Minister is also scheduled to hold meetings with his counterparts and other relevant stakeholders to discuss bilateral cooperation and exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual concern.

On 15 April 2025 in Baku, Azerbaijan, the Deputy Foreign Minister will co-chair the Second Malaysia - Republic of Azerbaijan Political Consultations with the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Elnur Mammadov.

The two sides will review the full spectrum of bilateral relations, including political, economic, consular, and people-to-people ties, with the aim of further strengthening bilateral cooperation. Discussions will also cover regional and global issues, reaffirming the commitment to continued collaboration and consultation between the two nations.

Acknowledging the positive trajectory of bilateral relations and the momentum generated by high-level visits and exchanges, both sides are eager to build on these developments and further enhance their cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
