The 2025 Climate-Friendly Garden Tour takes place throughout Napa and Yountville on Saturday, May 17, from 10 am to 4 pm, as ten public and private gardens provide inspiration for creating your own resource-efficient landscaping. Showcasing natural techniques that reduce waste and pollution, the tour incorporates a variety of garden sizes and styles. Tourgoers will encounter eye-catching drought-tolerant and native plants, pollinator habitat, edible gardens, and amazing do-it-yourself yard transformations. With our highly variable climate, doing more with less water is a key theme. Several of the residential sites have earned "Cash For Grass" rebates after removing unneeded high-water-use lawn. Two special stops this year include the brand-new Yountville Farmstand Garden kicking off its first growing season and the Napa Valley Language Academy (NVLA) School Garden hosted by the students and teachers who care for it. Interested tourgoers will also benefit from three mini-workshops scheduled throughout the day on rainwater catchment, vegetable garden set-up, and the important relationship between soil and climate change.
Each adult attendee must purchase a Tour Guide Brochure which acts as the entrance ticket for all ten gardens. Featuring a map, garden descriptions and addresses, and mini-workshop locations, the Tour Guide Brochure costs $5. The event is free for children. Brochures may be ordered online at NapaRCD.org/GardenTour2025. Those ordered by May 8 will be sent in the mail. Orders placed after May 8 should be picked up in person at Las Flores Learning Garden, 4300 Linda Vista Avenue, starting at 10 am on tour day, May 17. The Las Flores event hub will also feature day-of brochure sales, free compost and milkweed giveaways, Master Gardener demonstrations, and exhibits by local climate-friendly agencies and organizations. If you want compost, be sure to bring your own container!
This year's tour is sponsored by City of Napa Water, Napa County RCD, UCCE Master Gardeners, and the Town of Yountville.
