The National Association of REALTORS® released its third quarterly update on the 2026-2028 Strategic Plan today. The update shows how the association's work across advocacy, research and market intelligence, industry collaboration and member resources is delivering practical value for REALTORS®. The report includes updates on MLS engagement, housing opportunity expansion and fraud prevention resources and strategies.
Each achievement in the third quarter is part of a broader, connected effort to expand housing opportunity, ensure integrity in the market and throughout the transaction, and give members the insight and support to grow their business," said NAR CEO Nykia Wright."
This quarter's report highlights progress across several key priorities, including:
Bringing MLSs, Associations and Industry Leaders Together to Navigate Change
Expanded MLS executive engagement to nearly 500 MLS executives, convened experts from across the industry to form the new MLS Work Group, and published resources to support a pro-competitive, transparent marketplace. This work sits on top of ongoing member feedback through surveys, focus groups and in-person meetings.
Implementing Historic Housing Law to Improve Supply and Affordability
Spearheaded the push to pass the bipartisan 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act, which became law July 11. NAR then launched a nationwide effort with state and local associations to turn the federal law into local impact. The association also built bipartisan support for the More Homes on the Market Act and won another credit score modernization victory at the FHA.
Protecting REALTORS® and Consumers from Real Estate Fraud
Launched a central fraud prevention hub and a consumer guide that helps members, associations and consumers spot red flags, protect sensitive information and safeguard transactions. NAR also developed new fraud- and AI-focused education, including NAR NXT sessions and a Broker Power Hour on AI voice cloning and deepfake scams.
Connecting Commercial REALTORS® to Intelligence, Innovation and Insights
Launched the Commercial Real Estate Demand Index, expanded the member exclusive Metro Market Dashboard and released six local market assessment reports. Each gives commercial practitioners new insight into where demand is building across major property sectors.
Partnering with Brokers to Build Stronger, More Resilient Firms
Connected with more than 5,000 brokers to examine business challenges and share broker resources and expanded broker-focused programming and peer engagement, including a national broker networking session and the first Broker Innovation Forum coming up at NAR NXT.
Building Better Data, Technology and Security for Members
Expanded AI and emerging technology programming, from NAR NXT Tech & Innovation sessions to new research on how agents use technology in the 2026 REALTORS® Technology Report.
Additional achievements include federal appeals courts upholding dismissals in both the Eytalis and Homie antitrust cases, the publishing of the Data Center Impact Report and advancing the groundwork for a December launch of a modernized learning platform and courses.
