Tanner Health recently hosted its annual Future of Healthcare Scholarship Awards Luncheon, celebrating and supporting the next generation of physicians and advanced practice providers from across west Georgia and east Alabama.
Each year, the event recognizes students who have demonstrated exceptional dedication to pursuing careers in health care and a strong commitment to improving the health and well-being of their communities.
"Our honorees represent the future of health care for our communities and across the region," said Loy Howard, president and CEO of Tanner Health. "As the next generation of physicians and advanced practice providers, their commitment to service will help shape the future of care, and we are proud to support them as they continue their education and prepare to care for the patients and families who rely on them to maintain their health and wellness."
This year's scholarship recipients are Conner Mount, MD, from Carrollton, an anesthesiology resident at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Heersink School of Medicine; Jaime Ward from Bowdon, a nurse practitioner student at the University of Cincinnati; and Taylor Daniel from Wedowee, Alabama, a student at the University of South Alabama.
During the luncheon, scholarship recipients and guests heard remarks from members of Tanner's physician and executive leadership teams. Attendees included Dr. Jack Crews and Dr. Joe Parrish, along with members of Tanner's Board of Directors and the Tanner Health Foundation Board of Trustees. Tanner leaders in attendance included Daniel Jackson, chairman of Tanner's Board of Directors; Clint Hoffman, executive vice president of Tanner Medical Group; Jerry Morris, senior vice president of hospital operations; David Early, vice president and administrator of Tanner Medical Center/Villa Rica; and Myles Maxwell, vice president of strategy and business development for Tanner Medical Group.
The annual luncheon is part of the health system's commitment to investing in the future of health care by supporting students dedicated to serving their communities as physicians and advanced practice providers.
