Since the Hamas terrorist attacks of 7 October 2023, the EU has been the scene of an unprecedented wave of antisemitic and anti-Israeli actions. This summer witnessed a rise in expressions of hatred towards Jews and Israelis across several Member States.
In Spain, 50 French Jewish children returning from a holiday camp were disembarked from a Vueling flight after singing a song in Hebrew. In an outrageous tweet, the Spanish Minister of Transport labelled them 'Israeli brats'.
In Greece, a cruise liner carrying Israeli tourists was forced to reroute to Cyprus after a pro-Palestinian crowd prevented it from docking at the island of Syros.
In the Netherlands, two Israelis were hospitalised after being violently assaulted at a holiday park, while threatening slogans were shouted at them.
In Sweden, people were encouraged to gather outside and intimidate an Israeli tourist supposedly staying at a hotel in Stockholm.
