PHILADELPHIA, PA- October 22, 2025, The City of Philadelphia is embracing innovation in municipal service delivery with the launch of its Virtual Inspection Program, a bold step into the future of building safety and compliance. Powered by the brand-new Virtual Inspections Application (VIA), this initiative modernizes how the Department of Licenses and Inspections- Inspections, Safety and Compliance Division (L&I ISC) conducts certain inspections-offering a safe, efficient, and convenient alternative to traditional in-person visits.
Currently, contractors, permit holders, property owners, licensees and other customers can now conduct selected inspections remotely using just a smartphone or tablet, with real-time guidance from a Certified City of Philadelphia Building Inspector.
