MURFREESBORO, Tenn. --- Riverdale High School, Rockvale Middle School, and Christiana Elementary School claimed titles in their respective divisions at the 2026 Tennessee National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) State Championships held at Tennessee Miller Coliseum.
The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) hosted the March tournament, which featured close to 1,900 participants representing 88 schools. An awards ceremony was held at the tournament's conclusion on Friday evening. In addition, for the first time, TWRA and NASP combined to grant a total of $20,000 in scholarships.
After being the runner-up each of the past two years, Riverdale claimed the High School Division championship with a score of 3288. Soddy Daisey was second with 3261, and Oakland was third with 3241.
Rockvale Middle School shot 3271 to win its division. Manchester's Westwood Middle School (3205) was second, and Whitworth Buchanan (3192) was third.
Christiana Elementary School captured its third consecutive championship with a 3050. Rockvale Elementary (2931) was runner-up for the second year, and Poplar Hill Elementary (2726) was third as Rutherford County schools again took the top spots in the division.
TWRA presented awards to the top three teams in each division. Medals were presented to the top five female and male finishers in the high school, middle school, and elementary school divisions. Each student shot 30 arrows, 15 from 10 meters and 15 from 15 meters, with a maximum score of 300. Complete team and individual results can be found on the NASP website.
The top team and top 10 individuals in each division automatically received a bid to compete in the 2026 National NASP Tournament to be held May 7-9 in Louisville, Ky. There are also at-large bids for those who qualify.
In addition to the NASP state tournament, several schools participated in the 3D State Tournament hosted by TWRA and NASP for the first time. Riverdale High, Rockvale Middle, and Christiana Elementary also took titles in the 3D Tournament. Second-place finishers were Oakland High, Blackman Middle, and Rockvale Elementary. Placing third were White County High, Oakland Middle, and Westwood Elementary.
The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency is responsible for protecting, managing, and conserving fish and wildlife species for the benefit of Tennesseans and visitors. The Agency also maintains public safety through law enforcement and safety education on waterways.
