Colorado Corn Research: Request for Proposals (RFP)

Production & Sustainability Research (FY2026/2027)

Colorado Corn Promotion Council (CCPC) is now accepting Research Proposals (RFPs) for the 2026/2027 fiscal year. This funding track supports applied, producer-relevant research that strengthens the value, profitability, and long-term sustainability of Colorado corn production.

CCPC invites researchers, extension professionals, conservation and water partners, and industry collaborators to submit proposals that deliver practical outcomes for Colorado corn producers. We focus on projects that improve decision-making, increase input efficiency, protect natural resources, and support resilient farming systems.

What We're Looking For

This RFP supports broad production research distinct from the New Uses Request for Concepts. Strong proposals will address Colorado-specific agronomic needs, demonstrate clear grower value, outline measurable outcomes, and include an effective plan for communicating results.

Program Area Priorities

Soil Health, Sustainability & Carbon:
Advancing practices that improve soil function, enhance long-term productivity, and support profitable conservation. The overall goal is to provide data farmers need to adopt conservation practices that provide environmental and societal benefits while enhancing producer profitability.

Water:
Improving how growers use, manage, and protect water through efficiency, measurement, and innovative conservation strategies.

Livestock:
Supporting innovations that enhance corn's role in resilient, sustainable livestock systems.

Production Resources:
Developing tools and practices that help growers increase yields efficiently while safeguarding natural resources.

Key RFP Considerations
Competitive proposals will typically include:

  • Clear alignment with a stated priority area
  • Strong scientific/technical merit and feasibility within timeline and budget
  • Clear producer value and potential return on investment (ROI/acre)
  • Practical adoption relevance for Colorado production systems
  • Strong outreach and dissemination plan
  • Preference for leveraged funding and collaborative partnerships (including industry and/or other organizations)

How It Works

  1. Request the proposal template and prepare a full proposal package
  2. Submit your RFP by the deadline
  3. Proposals are reviewed by CCPC staff and the ad hoc research committee; clarifications may be requested for proposals under further consideration
  4. Selected proposals will be recommended for funding and applicants will be notified
