Funding Opportunity: Gene Sharp Lectureship for Nonviolent Action

The University of Alaska Foundation is pleased to announce a new funding opportunity through the Gene Sharp Lectureship for Nonviolent Action. The fund supports UA programs and activities that advance the study, practice and teaching of nonviolent action. Eligible activities include lectures, workshops, research, training and other educational programs.

The opportunity is open to UA faculty, staff, departments, programs and UA affiliates. Priority will be given to proposals that bring nationally or internationally recognized scholars, practitioners or leaders in nonviolent action to a UA campus and provide meaningful opportunities for student engagement and broader educational impact.

This is an annual funding opportunity. Each selected proposal receives one-time funding for the approved project, which is not intended to provide ongoing or recurring support. Awarded funds may support eligible activities taking place during the spring semester of the current academic year or during the following academic year, as appropriate for the proposed project.
