All-Way Stop Control to be installed at Robinson Street and 36th Avenue NE

March 19, 2026

Installation of All-Way Stop Control will occur on 4/1/26 at Robinson Street and 36th Avenue NE. The installation is the result of an intersection evaluation brought on by citizen concerns for safety at the intersection. The installation is part of a 2025 Safety Grant obtained by the Absentee Shawnee Tribe with assistance from the City of Norman. This is the first of four conversions that will occur over the next several weeks as a result of the Safety Grant Award.

Changes will include "STOP" signs with all-way plates on all approaches, as well as "Stop Ahead" signs on all approaches to the intersection. Flags will be added temporarily to all new signs to bring attention to the control changes.

Questions may be directed to the Department of Public Works at 405-366-5453.
