Wilkens Dieujuste, age 39, from Dubuque, Iowa, has been charged with one count of distribution of a controlled substance (amphetamine). The charge is contained in a Complaint unsealed yesterday in United States District Court in Cedar Rapids.
The Complaint alleges that in June 2026, Dieujuste, who is a Lieutenant with the Dubuque Police Department, distributed a prescription medication containing amphetamine, a Schedule II controlled substance, to another individual. If convicted, Dieujuste faces a possible maximum sentence of 20 years' imprisonment, a $1,000,000 fine, and three years of supervised release following any imprisonment.
Dieujuste appeared today in federal court in Cedar Rapids and was released on conditions set by the court. The court will schedule Dieujuste's next appearance at a later date.
As with any criminal case, a charge is merely an accusation, and a defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
The case was investigated by the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Dan Chatham.
