Aug. 19, 2025 - The National Weather Service in Wakefield has issued a Coastal Flood Watch for Hampton and surrounding areas from Thursday afternoon, August 21, through Friday afternoon, August 22.
What to Expect:

1-2 feet of water above ground level is possible in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.

Numerous road closures may occur.

Low-lying property, including homes and businesses, may be inundated.

Some shoreline erosion is possible.
How Residents Can Prepare:

Allow extra time if travel is required. Some roads may be closed.

Do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth.

Protect flood-prone property by using sandbags, securing outdoor items, and moving valuables to higher ground.

Prepare an emergency kit with essentials such as food, water, medications, and flashlights.

Fully charge cell phones and other devices in case of power outages.

Ensure you have enough fuel for generators and operate them safely outdoors, away from windows and doors.
