NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC AND REQUEST FOR INFORMATION

SILVER BAY SEAFOODS, LLC

Subject to AS 38.05.850, the Southcentral Regional Land Office has received an application for the following:

APPLICANT: SILVER BAY SEAFOODS, LLC

PROJECT NAME: LAS 36063

GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: Located within the submerged lands of the Kasilof River, immediately waterfront of the uplands parcels owned by Snug Harbor Seafoods, approximately two river miles from the mouth of the Kasilof River.

LEGAL DESCRIPTION: SW1/4NW1/4 Section 12, Township 3 North, Range 12 West, Seward Meridian

REQUESTED ACTIVITY: Applicant Silver Bay Seafoods is requesting a two-year land use permit for the seasonal placement of a floating dock within the Kasilof River to be used in support of commercial fish operations between the months of May through August. The proposed dock consists of two wood float sections (21-feet by 8-feet and 10-feet by 8-feet) connected to a 38-foot by 3-foot ramp which would be secured to the top of an existing sheet pile structure. There is an existing permanent dock structure in this location that is currently in disrepair. Silver Bay Seafoods has submitted a lease application to make repairs and take over operation of the permanent dock, and the seasonal floating dock would serve as a temporary alternative during lease adjudication.

The public is invited to comment on this activity. The purpose of this notice is to gather input before a decision is made on this activity. To ensure consideration, written comments must be received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at the Southcentral Regional Land Office, 550 W. 7th Ave., Suite 900C, Anchorage, AK 99501-3577 on or before 5:00 PM on the date noted above.
