CHANDLER, Ariz. - The City of Chandler Housing and Redevelopment Division is opening its project based voucher (PBV) waitlist for Villas on McQueen. Completed pre-applications will be accepted beginning at noon Friday, May 8, and must be submitted by the deadline at noon Friday, May 22.
Villas on McQueen is a new affordable housing development located at 77 N. McQueen Road at the corner of McQueen Road and East Trails End Place. This is a project based voucher program, meaning accepted applicants will pay 30% of their income towards rent, while the rest will be covered by funding through the U.S. Department of Urban Development and Housing.
Interested applicants can pre-apply online at Apply For Housing. Applicants must complete both steps of the process - first create an online account and second complete a pre-application. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
From the pool of all-pre-applications submitted, 600 pre-applications will be placed on the waitlist by random selection ("lottery"). Pre-applicants not selected will have to reapply for assistance when the waitlist is open again.
Applicants selected from the "lottery" and placed on the waiting list will be selected from the waitlist in numeric order, based on a family's assigned sequential waitlist number. Families with a preference will be selected before families without a preference. Preferences will be calculated in a "lumping" order, whereby, a family with one preference will have the same number of points as a family with multiple preferences.
The preferences for this waiting list include (1) Elderly, (2) Veteran, (3) Family, (4) Disabled family, (5) At risk of homelessness.
