Concord Police Department Welcomes 11 New Officers

During National Police Week, the Concord Police Department is honored to welcome 11 new officers who were recently sworn in during a badge pinning ceremony held at City Hall.

The newly sworn Concord Police Department officers are: Brendan Boaz, Jarryd Brown, Jaxon Cummings, Jacob Dontrell, Adam Glayzer, William Kuhl, Patrick Lynch III, Kayla Sorensen, Rebecca Stanton, Joseph Suco, and Brandon Tingle. The new class of officers includes eight officers with prior law enforcement experience who transferred from another law enforcement agency and three who recently completed their Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET).

During the badge pinning ceremony, the officers took their oath to uphold the law and safeguard the residents and visitors of Concord. The officers were joined by members of their family, along with Concord Police Chief Jimmy Hughes, Mayor Steve Morris, and members of City Council.

During the ceremony, Chief Hughes thanked the officers' families for their support and offered words of encouragement to the new officers, reminding them they're not only part of the policing profession but part of a team on a mission to serve each other and the community with honor, integrity, and compassion.

"You're part of something greater now," said Chief Hughes. "Each day you put on this uniform, remember why you're here and why you chose a career in law enforcement."

The City of Concord is the 10th largest and 7th fastest growing city in North Carolina and despite its size and growth, continues to rank among the safest and best places in America to live and raise a family. This accolade is a testament to the dedication, professionalism, and service of the men and women of the Concord Police Department.

The City is honored to welcome 11 new officers and support them throughout their law enforcement career and service to the organization and community.
