Diversey and Green Key Partner to Support Sustainable Hospitality in Egypt

October 5, 2026

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Cairo, Egypt - July 2026 - Diversey, a Solenis company, and Tadweera for Green Education, the National Operator of Green Key in Egypt, are joining forces to support the advancement of sustainable hospitality and responsible tourism across Egypt. The collaboration brings together Diversey's expertise in hygiene, sustainability and hospitality solutions with Tadweera's knowledge and role in delivering the Green Key programme.

The partnership designed to help hospitality operators strengthen environmental practices, increase sustainability awareness and translate sustainability goals into practical action was signed on July 8 at InterContinental Cairo Citystars.

A key component of the initiative is Diversey's Linens For Life™ circular textile program that gives used hospitality linens a second life. During events supporting the partnership, used hotel linens are repurposed into reusable products such as tote bags and pouches, demonstrating how circular economy principles can help reduce waste and extend the value of materials used across hotel operations.

"Hotels are looking for practical ways to reduce waste, use resources more efficiently and bring sustainability into the guest experience" said Dr. Stefan Phang, vice president, Creating Shared Value & Sustainability, Diversey. "Through this partnership, we can help hospitality operators in Egypt implement solutions that deliver measurable environmental benefits while supporting business objectives."

"At Tadweera, we believe that true sustainability in hospitality is not a one-time achievement but a continuous journey of improvement" said Yamama El Kenawy, Founder & Managing Director, Tadweera for Green Education & National Operator of Green Key in Egypt. "Our strategic cooperation with Diversey brings together global technical excellence and on-the-ground local expertise to empower Egyptian tourism sector not just to earn the prestigious and globally recognized Green Key eco-label, but to embed lasting environmental practices into their daily operations."

The initiative was highlighted through events in Cairo and El Gouna on July 8 and 10, 2026, bringing together hospitality leaders, sustainability stakeholders, environmental organizations and government representatives. Following the signing ceremony in Cairo, the collaboration continued at the official launch of Green Key in Red Sea Egypt at Sheraton Miramar Resort in El Gouna, where Diversey participated as a key partner.

The event was attended by Magda Hanna, H.E. Deputy Governor of the Red Sea. During the event, Tadweera and HEPCA (Hurghada Environmental Protection and Conservation Association) also signed a partnership focused on strengthening marine conservation and promoting sustainable practices within coastal hotels.

Together the initiatives demonstrate how collaboration can connect environmental standards, innovation and practical solutions across the hospitality value chain. Green Key provides a framework for strengthening environmental performance, while Linens For Life™ demonstrates how circular practices can be embedded into hotel operations. By working with hospitality operators, environmental organizations, government stakeholders and industry partners, Diversey aims to help accelerate solutions that support resource efficiency, waste reduction and more sustainable hotel operations.
