May 14, 2025 Governor Patrick Morrisey Orders Flags Lowered to Honor Peace Officer Memorial Day ...

Charleston, W.Va. - Today, Governor Patrick Morrisey issued a proclamation ordering flags to be flown at half staff on May 15, 2025 in honor of Peace Officer Memorial Day.

"Law enforcement officers put their lives on the line every day for our safety," said Governor Morrisey. "May we always remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty, and may we pledge to do everything in our power to keep our brave officers safe. Thank you to every peace officer across West Virginia for protecting our communities."

On May 15, 2025, the citizens of West Virginia are encouraged to join all Americans to honor the federal, state, and local officers killed or disabled in the line of duty, in gratitude to all law enforcement officers in this State and throughout the nation, and in support of their continuing efforts to protect the rights and safety of our citizens and our precious freedoms.
