Done with the Tree? West Jordan Has You Covered

West Jordan Offers Multiple Options for Christmas Tree Disposal

After the holidays wrap up, the City of West Jordan is making it easy for residents to responsibly dispose of real Christmas trees. From Monday, December 29 through Friday, January 30, residents may choose between convenient drop-off locations or scheduled curbside pickup options.

Only natural Christmas trees will be accepted. Trees must be completely free of decorations, including ornaments, lights, tinsel, tree stands, and flocking.

Christmas Tree Drop-Off Locations (Available All Month)

Residents who prefer to drop off their trees can use any of the following locations throughout the entire disposal period, December 29-January 30:

  • County Pool / Gene Fullmer Recreation Center
    Parking Lot - 8125 S. 2200 W.
  • Constitution Park
    Parking Lot - Southeast corner of 3285 W. 7000 S.
  • West Jordan Soccer Complex
    South Parking Lot - West side of 4000 W. 8070 S.

Each site will be equipped with a 30-yard dumpster, and disposal services will be managed by Ace Disposal. Drop-off availability remains unchanged for the full duration, regardless of curbside pickup schedule adjustments.

Curbside Christmas Tree Pickup Options

Residents who choose curbside disposal should be aware that pickup procedures change later in the month. Trees should be placed at the curb on the resident's regular garbage collection day.

January 5 - January 16

During this period, trees will be collected separately from household trash.

  • Trees over 10 feet must be cut in half
  • Smaller trees may remain whole
  • Trees will be manually loaded into rear-load collection trucks

January 19 - January 30

Trees will be collected at the same time as regular trash service.

  • Trees must be cut in half so they can fit inside the garbage can
  • Smaller trees that fit entirely inside the can may remain whole

Ace Disposal will not collect any tree over 10 feet in length unless it has been cut in half to allow for safe handling.
