Principal Ann Harrer and Senior Principal Michael Lee have been elected Fellows of the American Concrete Institute (ACI), one of the organization's highest honors. The recognition highlights their longstanding leadership within ACI and their contributions to the advancement of concrete materials, products, and structures.
Ann, a structural engineer based in our Los Angeles office, has more than two decades of experience assessing and repairing existing building materials, with an emphasis on concrete building and structural elements. Her work specializes in the conservation and preservation of architecturally significant and heritage concrete structures. She currently chairs ACI 364 (Rehabilitation) and is a member of several other committees, including those focused on the history of concrete, protective systems, and repair guidance. She previously chaired ACI 515 and has also contributed to the institute's membership and strategic planning efforts.
In addition to her national involvement, Ann has been active in the ACI Southern California Chapter, where she served on the Board of Directors and as chapter president in 2019. Since 2024, she has served as a judge for the ACI Excellence in Concrete Awards and was recognized with the American Concrete Institute Young Member Award for Professional Achievement in 2019.
Michael, a structural engineer based in our Dallas office, has investigated concrete deterioration, water leakage, collapse, construction deviations, and strengthening needs in hundreds of buildings, parking garages, and other structures. His technical expertise includes precast, post-tensioned, two-way, composite, and long-span concrete structural systems as well as externally bonded fiber-reinforced polymer systems.
An ACI member since 1983, Michael is a past chair of ACI 440F (Fiber-Reinforced Polymer Reinforcement - Repair-Strengthening). He remains active on multiple ACI committees related to tolerances; fiber-reinforced polymer reinforcement; rehabilitation of concrete and evaluation; and repair and rehabilitation of concrete structures. He also serves as chair of the PCI Standards Committee.
The announcement was made during the opening session at the Spring 2026 ACI Convention, held March 29 in Rosemont, Illinois.
