Upcoming solar carport installation at Kelly Park Dec. 17

Public Works will soon begin the installation of solar panel carports at the Kelly Field parking lot (100 Terminal Ave.). Construction is anticipated to start Dec. 17 and is estimated to be completed by April 2026. This work is part of the City's Climate Action Plan to eliminate greenhouse gas emissions from city operations and increase equitable access to EV charging stations. This project supports the Belle Haven Community Campus renewable energy microgrid system that generates clean on-site solar electricity.

The work will take place from Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. The parking lot will be closed during construction, but the Kelly Park track and field will remain open and accessible. Additional notices will be placed near the parking lot in advance of the project start date.
