Join us at Eastside Library on March 24 from 2:30-4:30 p.m. for a welcoming, community-focused program led by the Sansum Diabetes Research Institute (SDRI) to learn more about Type 1 diabetes (T1D). This interactive session will cover how T1D develops, early warning signs, the differences between Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, and why early diagnosis is so important.

Free testing will be available. SDRI will introduce the Screen & Treat initiative, a no-cost early detection and prevention program that uses a simple autoantibody test to identify individuals who may be at risk for developing Type 1 diabetes. This free screening gives families valuable information, time to monitor changes, and access to care that may delay or prevent the onset of T1D.

The program will be offered in both English and Spanish and is designed to empower families, promote early diagnosis, and support the health of our community.
