Municipal Candidate Filing Begins Wednesday July 29, 2026 at County Clerk's Office
Candidates in Benton and Bryant are required to submit petitions containing 30 signatures. Candidates in Alexander, Bauxite, Haskell, Shannon Hills, and Traskwood are required to submit petitions containing 10 signatures.

Municipal Candidate Filing Begins Wednesday July 29, 2026 at County Clerk's Office
Saline County, AR-The filing period for candidates seeking municipal office in the November 3, 2026 General Election will open at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, and will close at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) on Wednesday, August 5, 2026.
Candidates should bring their completed petition and all required paperwork to the Saline County Clerk's Office, located at 215 N. Main Street, Suite 9, Benton, AR 72015. Candidates must first complete the filing process in the Clerk's Office before proceeding to the Vote Here Building, located at 221 N. Main Street, Benton, AR 72015, to finalize the remaining filing requirements.
The following municipal offices will appear on the ballot for the November 3, 2026 General Election:
Alexander:
- Mayor
- Council Member - Wards 1, 2, 3, and 4 (2 positions per ward)
- Mayor
- Council Member - Wards 1, 2, and 3 (2 positions per ward)
- Mayor
- Council Member - Wards 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 (Position 1 only)
- City Attorney
- City Clerk
- Mayor
- Council Member - Wards 1, 2, 3, and 4 (2 positions per ward)

Candidates in Benton and Bryant are required to submit petitions containing 30 signatures. Candidates in Alexander, Bauxite, Haskell, Shannon Hills, and Traskwood are required to submit petitions containing 10 signatures.
New (non-incumbent) candidates must also file a Statement of Financial Interest no later than Monday, August 10, 2026. Questions regarding the Statement of Financial Interest should be directed to the Arkansas Ethics Commission at (501) 324-9600.
